Here's why Zayn Malik called Naughty Boy a 'fat joke' on Twitter today

Harsh enough.

CELEBRITY BEEF KLAXON.

Earlier this afternoon, Zayn Malik sent a tweet to pal/one-time collaborator Naughty Boy in which he called him a “fat joke” and kindly asked him to stop pretending they were friends.

@NaughtyBoyMusic you fat joke stop pretending we’re friends no one knows you

Entertainment Weekly reports that the tweet was likely sent in response to Naughty Boy leaking a Zayn Malik video last month.

The producer allegedly leaked a video of Zayn Malik performing No Type last month and it looks as though Zayn was not best pleased, calling him a “faker” in another tweet this afternoon.

The harshly-worded tweets are a far cry from the kinds of tweets Naughty Boy and Zayn Malik used to send one another.

Once upon a time, the pair were as close as can be.

Zayn encouraged Naughty Boy in his endeavors.

And Naughty Boy supported his friend where possible :)

They even made little jokes at each other’s expense.

And they were always on hand to give each other confusingly-worded advice.

They grew so close that when Zayn Malik decided to leave One Direction earlier this year, Naughty Boy was the first person he turned to in an effort to help launch his solo career.

Naughty Boy quickly released a demo he had recorded with Zayn… although it was soon taken down and the song was revealed to be a hand-me-down from One Direction.

Since then, we haven’t heard all that much from the pair, but two days ago The Mirror reported that Malik was finally moving on from Naughty Boy.

Until now, things have been a bit up in the air and a lot of the public information about Zayn’s career has come from Naughty Boy chatting about it. But Zayn has decided now is the time to get serious.

Cut to: today’s “fat joke” tweet. :(

The message has been warmly welcomed by Directioners who think Zayn has finally come to his senses and the hashtag #ZaynHasNoChill is currently trending.

So, is all lost?

Well, Zayn is still following Naughty Boy on Twitter so perhaps it can all be resolved some day and this will prove to be a minor blip in the great love story between Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy.

*fingers crossed*
